THIS SWEEPSTAKES IS OFFERED   ONLY IN THE 50 STATES OF THE UNITED STATES (“ U.S. ”) AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA (“D.C.”) AND IS INTENDED FOR PARTICIPATION IN THOSE   AREAS ONLY. PLEASE DO NOT PROCEED IF YOU ARE NOT A PERMANENT LEGAL RESIDENT OF ONE OF THOSE AREAS.  

 1.  Eligibility:       The Optimum High Definition Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) is open only to permanent legal residents of the fifty (50) states of the U.S. and D.C. who are at least thirteen (13) years old at the time of entry.  Entrants must have either a valid social security number, a valid U.S. personal tax identification, or a valid social insurance number to participate. Employees of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment Inc. (the “Sponsor”), Bamko Promotional Items, Inc. (the “Administrator”), Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc., Sony Electronics Inc., Sony Music Entertainment Inc., their advertising or promotion entities, those involved in the production, development, implementation or handling of this Sweepstakes, any agents acting for, or on behalf of the above entities, their respective parent companies, officers, directors, subsidiaries, affiliates, licensees, service providers, prize suppliers, any other person or entity associated with this Sweepstakes (collectively, the “Sweepstakes Entities”), members of their immediate families (spouses, children, siblings, parents), and/or persons living in the same household as such persons, whether or not related, are ineligible to enter this Sweepstakes.  This Sweepstakes is subject to these Official Rules and all applicable federal, state, provincial, municipal, territorial and local laws and regulations (the “Rules and Laws”). Void where prohibited.  Participation in the Sweepstakes constitutes entrant's full and unconditional agreement and acknowledgment to be bound by the Rules and Laws, as well as by Sponsor's and Administrator's decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Sweepstakes. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.

 3. Timing:       The Sweepstakes begins on December 8, 2008 at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time ("PT") and ends on January 18, 2009 at 11:59 p.m. PT (the "Sweepstakes Period").  Administrator's computer is the official time keeping device for this Sweepstakes.

 4.  How to Enter:      NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING.  

During the Promotion Period, visit www.amazon.com/SonyHighDef and click on the “THE OPTIMUM HIGH DEFINITION EXPERIENCE” sweepstakes banner ad located on the landing page. Follow the links and instructions to complete the Sweepstakes entry form. Information required on the entry form consists of your First Name, Last Name, Email Address, Street Address (no P.O. Boxes), City, State, Zip Code, Daytime Phone Number (including area code) and Gender (collectively, the “Entry Information”). All required Entry Information must be completed in full.  Upon completion and submission of the online entry form, you automatically will receive one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes Entry”). 

Limit one (1) Sweepstakes Entry per person per email address during the entire Sweepstakes Period. Multiple Sweepstakes Entries submitted by the same person in excess of the above limit will be disqualified. Multiple entrants are not permitted to share the same email address.  Any attempt by any entrant to obtain more than the stated number of Sweepstakes Entries by using multiple/different email addresses, identities, registrations and logins, or any other methods will void that entrant's Sweepstakes Entries and that entrant may be disqualified. Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification.  Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible or misdirected Sweepstakes Entries, which will be disqualified.  In the event of a dispute over the identity of an entrant who submitted a winning Sweepstakes Entry, at Sponsor's sole discretion, the authorized account holder of the email address associated with that Sweepstakes Entry will be deemed the entrant.  The “authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted address.  Potential winners may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder. Proof of submitting a Sweepstakes Entry will not be deemed by Sponsor as proof of receipt or entry into the Sweepstakes. Any attempted form of entry into this Sweepstakes other than as described herein is void. If an entrant is a resident of a jurisdiction that deems him/her to be a minor, he/she must obtain parental/legal guardian consent prior to entering or submitting any personally identifiable information.

 5.  Sweepstakes:       Administrator is an independent judging organization whose decisions as to the administration and operation of the Sweepstakes and the selection of potential winners are final and binding in all matters related to the Sweepstakes. Administrator will randomly select the potential Sweepstakes winner, from all eligible entries on or around January 21, 2009 (48 hours after close of the Sweepstakes Period).

 6.   All potential WINNERS are subject to verification by Sponsor or Administrator, whose decisions are final AND BINDING IN ALL MATTERS RELATED TO THE SWEEPSTAKES.   An entrant is not a winner of any prize unless and until entrant's eligibility has been verified and entrant has been notified that verification is complete .

 7.  Verification of Potential Winners:       Potential winners must continue to comply with all terms and conditions of these Official Rules, and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements.  The potential Sweepstakes winners will be notified by email or telephone within 24 hours of the date of random drawing.  Except where prohibited, each potential Grand and First Prize winner (or parent/legal guardian if winner is a minor in his/her jurisdiction of residence) will be required to respond to Administrator within 48 hours of the date notice is sent in order to claim his/her prize.  If a potential winner of any prize cannot be contacted after a reasonable effort has been exerted, he/she is found to be ineligible, he/she cannot or does not comply with these Official Rules, and/or his/her prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, such potential winner will be disqualified.  In the event that a potential prize winner is disqualified for any reason, Sponsor will award the applicable prize to an alternate winner by random drawing from among all remaining eligible Sweepstakes Entries.  There will be three (3) alternate drawings for each prize, after which the applicable prize will remain unawarded.  All prizes will be fulfilled 8-10 weeks after the conclusion of the Sweepstakes. 

 8.   Prizes:       ONE (1) GRAND PRIZE : One (1) Grand Prize winner will receive a Sony B DP S550 Blu-ray Player , (5) five Sony Music Blu-ray titles, ten (10) Sony Pictures Blu-ray titles of winner's choice [FROM A LIST OF TITLES--

] (Approximate Retail Value ("ARV"): $700 USD).  ONE (1) FIRST PRIZE : One (1) First Prize winner will receive a PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, “LittleBigPlanet™” and “Resistance 2™” video games  (ARV: $520 USD).  ONE (1) SECOND PRIZE : One (1) Second Prize winner will receive a one-of-a-kind "House Bunny" Blu-ray disc autographed by Anna Faris and a copy of "House Bunny" on Blu-ray Disc (ARV: $ 500 USD). TEN (10) THIRD PRIZES : Ten (10) Third Prize winners will each receive a “Hancock” Blu-ray Disc (ARV: $30 USD/each; $300 USD total).

For All Prizes :        Odds of winning a prize depend on the total number of eligible Sweepstakes Entries received during the Sweepstakes Period. The ARV of electronic prizes is subject to price fluctuations in the consumer marketplace based on, among other things, any gap in time between the date the ARV is estimated for purposes of these Official Rules and the date the prize is awarded or redeemed. No cash equivalent and all prizes are non-transferable and no substitution will be made except as provided herein at the Sponsor's sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any listed prize for one of equal or greater value if the designated prize should become unavailable for any reason.  Winner is solely responsible for all taxes, fees and costs associated with prize receipt and/or use.    TOTAL ARV OF ALL PRIZES: $ 2,020.00 USD.  The Grand Prize winner and any winner of a prize valued at over $600 will be issued an IRS Form 1099 from the Sponsor or Sponsor's designee for the total ARV of the prize (as stated above) that he/she won in the calendar year that he/she won. Limit one (1) prize per person/family/household.

 9.   Release:        Each Sweepstakes entrant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Sweepstakes Entities from any and all liability resulting or arising from the Sweepstakes, and to release all rights to bring any claim, action or proceeding against the Sweepstakes Entities. By entering the Sweepstakes, each entrant agrees and acknowledges that the Sweepstakes Entities shall have no responsibility or liability (including, but not limited to, liability for any property loss, damage, personal injury or death) in connection with: participation in the Sweepstakes; acceptance/possession, defects and/or use or misuse of any prize; typographical errors in Sweepstakes promotional material; shipping delays; human error; incorrect or inaccurate transcription of Entry Information; any technical malfunctions of the telephone network or Internet service providers; interruption or inability to access the Sweepstakes; mobile phone accounts not in good standing; any lost/delayed data transmissions, omissions, interruptions, defects; and/or any other errors or malfunctions, even if caused by the negligence of any one or more of the Sweepstakes Entities. Sweepstakes Entities shall not be liable for any injury, damage, loss, expense, accident, delay, inconvenience or irregularity that may be caused or contributed to (1) by any wrongful, negligent or unauthorized act or omission on the part of a prize supplier or any of its agents, servants, employees or independent contractors, (2) by any wrongful, negligent or unauthorized act or omission on the part of any other person or entity not an employee of Sweepstakes Entities, or (3) by any other cause, condition or event whatsoever beyond the control of Sponsor or its parents, subsidiaries and affiliated companies. The failure of Sponsor to comply with any provision of these Official Rules due to an act of God, hurricane, war, fire, riot, earthquake, terrorism, act of public enemies, actions of governmental authorities outside of the control of Sponsor   (excepting compliance with applicable codes and regulations) or other force majeure event will not be considered a breach of these Official Rules .

 10.  Publicity:       Except where prohibited by law, entry into the Sweepstakes and/or a winner's acceptance of a prize constitutes permission of such winner (or, if resident of a jurisdiction that deems him/her to be a minor, his/her parent or legal guardian) for Sponsor and its agents to use winner's name, likeness, photograph, voice, opinions and/or hometown and state for advertising, trade, publicity and promotional purposes in any and all forms of media now known and hereafter devised, worldwide and in perpetuity, without further payment or consideration.

 11.  General Conditions:       Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Sweepstakes, or any part of it, if any fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond Sponsor's reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Sweepstakes, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. In such event, Sponsor reserves the right to instruct Administrator to conduct any or all of the drawings and to award the prizes at random from among the eligible Sweepstakes Entries received up to the time of the impairment, or award the prizes in a manner that is fair and equitable.  Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules, or to be acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with the Sweepstakes will be ineligible to win a prize. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.  Sponsor's failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
 

 12.  Limitations of Liability:        The Sweepstakes Entities are not responsible or liable for:  (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Promotion; (2) Entry Information that is entered by other than human means (such as by an automated computer program or any non-human mechanism, entity or device), in excess of the stated entry limit, or for Entry Information that is illegible, late, forged, destroyed, lost, misplaced, stolen, misdirected, tampered with, incomplete, deleted, damaged, garbled, altered or otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules; (3) failure to receive Entry Information due to technical or transmission failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (4) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Sweepstakes; (5) technical or human error which may occur in the processing of Entry Information or Sweepstakes Entries; or (6) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant's participation in the Sweepstakes or receipt or use or misuse of any prize.  If for any reason an entrant's entry is confirmed to have been erroneously deleted, lost, or otherwise destroyed or corrupted, entrant's sole remedy is another entry in the Sweepstakes, provided that if it is not possible to award another entry due to discontinuance of the Sweepstakes, or any part of it, for any reason, Sponsor, at its discretion, may elect to hold a random drawing from among all eligible entries received up to the date of discontinuance for any or all of the prizes offered herein.  No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded. In the event that production, technical, seeding, programming or any other reasons cause more than the stated number of prizes as set forth in these Official Rules to be available and/or claimed, Sponsor reserves the right to award only the stated number of prizes by a random drawing among all legitimate, unawarded, eligible prize claims.

 13.   Arbitration/Waiver of Injunctive Relief/Governing Law:          By submitting a sweepstakes entry, entrants agree that a ny controversy or claim arising out of or relating to these official rules, their enforcement, arbitrability or interpretation shall be submitted to final and binding arbitration, to be held in los angeles county, california, before a single arbitrator, in accordance with california code of civil procedure §§ 1280 et seq . the arbitrator shall be selected by mutual agreement of the parties or, if the parties cannot agree, then by selecting an arbitrator from a list of arbitrators supplied by jams (judicial arbitration and mediation services). if the parties still cannot agree on an arbitrator, the arbitrator shall be appointed by jams. the arbitration shall be a confidential proceeding, closed to the general public. the arbitrator shall issue a written opinion stating the essential findings and conclusions upon which the arbitrator's award is based. the parties will share equally in payment of the arbitrator's fees and arbitration expenses and any other costs unique to the arbitration hearing (recognizing that each side bears its own deposition, witness, expert and attorneys' fees and other expenses to the same extent as if the matter were being heard in court). notwithstanding the foregoing, the arbitrator may require that such fees be borne in such other manner as the arbitrator determines is required in order for this arbitration clause to be enforceable under applicable law.

Entrants further understand and agree that they shall have no right to enjoin or restrain the development, production, advertising, promotion, distribution or exploitation of the Sweepstakes, or any of Sponsor's (or any of its parent companies', subsidiaries' or affiliates') productions, projects or pictures.

Entrants acknowledge that the internal substantive laws (as distinguished from the choice of law rules) of the State of California and the United States of America applicable to contracts made and performed entirely in California shall govern the validity and interpretation of these Official Rules and all other causes of action (whether sounding in contract or in tort) arising out of or relating to these Official Rules.

 14. Entrant's Personal Information:       Information collected from entrants is subject to the Sponsor's Privacy Policy, located at http://www.sonypictures.com/corp/privacy.html . Additionally, if an entrant chooses to opt-in to receive communications from a participating Sweepstakes Entity, his/her Entry Information will be subject to that Sweepstakes Entity's privacy policy and terms of service (if applicable), and such entrant agrees to receive additional email communication from that particular Sweepstakes Entity. Opting in to receive communications does not improve one's chances of winning any prize. The privacy policy for any Sweepstakes Entity participating in an opt-in will be accessible via hyperlink from the online Sweepstakes entry form.
